Dental Implants
In the last 25 years titanium implants have made huge strides in medicine and dentistry . Today dental implants are usually the preferred method to replace missing teeth for several reasons including their excellent success rates, proven track record, and comforts and cosmetics that they provide to the patient. Something many people don’t realize is that implants also allow for a tremendous amount of flexibility in that there is never just one way to do it, this is why it is best to discuss your options with a doctor you trust.
At Dental Design Studio our doctors will be able to evaluate your case and tell you if you are a candidate for dental implants. Simply put, a dental implant is a titanium based cylinder that takes the place of the missing tooth root. After a period of time, this titanium cylinder fuses with the bone in what is know as osseointegration. Once osseointegration occurs, the implant is ready to be crowned.
For many the thought of an implant is a painful thought, however the procedure is relatively painless. Local anaestesia is used to numb the area while the procedure is done, and post-op pain is minimal to none.
In addition to replacing single teeth implants can also be used to support full or partial dentures. They dramatically improve the denture retention and stability. Most patients with sufficient bone can have implants, although individual decisions and factors must be considered. Usually an x-ray and a CT-scan is done to determine if you have enough bone to place the implant and also to determine the size and kind of the implant that should be placed.

want to know the cost of implant. I am from out of state and visiting for only one week in tempe in May. can it be done in that length of time? does the extraction of my tooth cost extra?
from rural oregon…..
Some dentist may be able to do it in that amount of time, but I personally do not recommend it. My recommendation would be to find a dentist close to where you live who can place the implant and follow you through all stages of treatment. Feel free to call our office and we can talk more about what is required and what I would recommend.
